Team Control foul during try for goal?

It doesn't exist, right?

A2 fouls B1 while A1's successful shot is in flight.

Count the basket, award ball to team B, correct?

I'll give this a stab, and someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

There's no team control during a try for a goal. Hence, it's a common foul, count the basket, and we'll either give the ball to B or let B shoot free throws, depending on the foul count.

Correct.

You got it wrong in one game. You'll make up for it in the hundred more you'll get it right in.

Like you said, live and learn.

Thanks. Just letting the frustration pound the rule into my head.

As I'm making the call, the rule about the ball becoming dead on a team-control foul was the one in my head.

The rule about there being no team control during a try for goal didn't enter my head until I was walking in the house after the game. Which is when I kicked myself. :)

What exactly did you do wrong?

Be careful how you define "try for goal." While the ball is in the shooter's hands, there is a try for goal, but at that point if A2 fouls, it's TC and the ball is dead, shot no good if it goes. Team control ends when the ball leaves the shooter's hands.

Yep and if team B is the bonus, they shoot as well.
