Coaches Can't Play Without Em?
If I tell you the entire story, you will tell me I am lying. I am not. I will start the thread now and expand on it soon. I have to put my son to bed.
My first question is- The coach delayed getting a sub to the table after a DQ. 1st horn, we encouraged the coach to get the sub in, he decided he wanted to use it a s a TO. 2nd horn, no sub, we are saying come on coach, nothing. I call the "T". he goes crazy and says " I have 30 seconds" I say no coach you had 20 seconds. He doesn't know the rule. I feel bad, but that's life. The "T" to who? The coach? Direct? Team? Thanks, more soon. |

O.K., I have some time.
BTW, Thanks, That's what I thought. This coach, 2nd time I have had him this year already, doesn't have a clue about the rules. This is his 4th year coaching. He told my partner that an offensive player can not be called for a kick. He told me on another play where the ball was thrown by his player of an opponants foot, that was a kick, I told him that kick has to be intentional. He told me I was wrong and that I don't know the rule. He calls 3 seconds while the other team is shooting rebounds over and over. He is a nice enough guy, but.... I "T'ed" him up last week , I felt he was trying to insite the crowd. Now tonight, I "T'ed" up for delay of game. I have him again in 3 weeks. Same 2 teams away this time. Joy Joy. |

Girls JV... LOTS of jump balls.
Near the end of the game, 3 point game, jump ball right in front of me as T in front of table. Arrow towards red, which I know is wrong b/c I had the last jump ball go to red about 1 minute earlier. me: "White ball." coach: "The arrow says our ball!" me: "The arrow is wrong, it was less than a minute ago in front of your bench." table person: "You're right, I forgot to switch it." coach: "That's not my fault, you have to go by what the arrow says!" Luckily my incompetence didn't cost them the game. |

You are already aware that this coach doesn't know the rules. So don't engage in a rules argument with him. It's pointless. Just ignore his incorrect rules comments. Having him tell you such and such is the rule and you responding with no it's this, doesn't gain you anything. Don't let him draw you into this silliness. Just make your call and leave. If he misbehaves, T him. |
