I officiate football and basketball, so this thread is on both forums.

What is on your officiating wish list for Christmas?

For basketball, one of my wishes is that coaches and fans become acquainted with the backcourt/frontcourt rule. I have heard many times screams of "backcourt!!!!!!" when a player stops while straddling the line while bringing the ball up the court.

I wish they would learn the rule for 3 second violations!!

I wish that I don't have to give any more technical fouls for the rest of the season. ;)

I wish coaches would just focus on coaching their team. I wish players would learn good fundamentals.

All I wish is for all schools to have warm water for a post game shower.

Why don't you just throw in "world peace" while you're at it?

That's what I was going to wish for, but since you did...

We may not agree on the path, but I think most people share the dream.

On that same note.....I wish everyone would remember it's just a game and NOT the end of the world. So relax and have fun. :)

Simple just eliminate everyone who disagrees with you, then the remaining people will live in harmony. :D

I would agree with you but I really don't want to live in a world where you and I are the only people left.

Just guessing, but in the spirit of Bayonne and Hackensack, I'm betting the only acceptable arrangement would be Dan and JR. And a rusty bridge.

I wish coaches would take Part I and Part II and see how much they don't know.

All levels of coaches, it should be mandatory. My life would be better. Read my next thread and you will understand. I'll call it "Coaches, can you play without em?"

Dear Santa, please give me good health, fitness, and rules knowledge. Also please make the coaches box really a box, with sides and a roof, and barred windows and a door that locks from the outside. Oh and please put a slot in the box where we can put quarters in case we ever want the coach's opinion; On second thought, we would never use that slot so don't bother.

What is this "coaches box" of which you speak? :confused: I think it must be some mythical thing, like Jurassic's sense of humor or Dan_ref's hair. . .
