New Rule

I said to myself that it would never happen. But it did. Freshman boys game. I call a jump ball violation. Partner has the AP throw-in. Ball gets released and B2 kicks the ball He blows the whistle for the violation. Before he goes to reinbound the ball I get together with him to confer that he called a 'kicked ball' violation. He says YES. Then I remind him of the new rule. I go to the table and explain the rule to players, coaches, table personel and fans. They all had the 'deer looking into the head lights' look. And so it goes....:D

Great job recognizing the new rule change.

I concur great job recognizing the new rule change BUT that's an awful lot of explaining Lucy :p

1. I brief the table, when I check the books.
2. At the conclusion of my captain/coaches pre game when I ask if there are any questions, I'm done with clinic for the night.
3. Fans will be fans, they always have that look when they're squad is losing :D

That's "splainin", not "explaining".

Zoochy what is the new rule you explained to everyone? Was it not still Team A's ball?

Thanks,

Thanks,

It was still A's ball, but the rule he's alluding to is that the AP arrow will not change because the AP throw-in didn't end and the next throw-in will be for the kicking violation.

So, A gets a throw-in and keeps the AP arrow.

Just explain it to the table, if they ask why. As far as I'm concerned, the coaches receive a new rule book and attend the clinic just like we do every year. Nice work with being on top of it.

Gotcha! That makes sense! I read the new rule a few months ago but NOW I correctly understand it.

Thanks guys!
