Going to be strange to take the court today...(agian)
 

7 years ago today I was just about to tip off a 2:00 game when my wife walked in the gym and motioned me to come over to her...I took the ball to the score table and asked them to please wait...

My wife's words were "It's your dad...somethings happened...you need to come now..."

At 2:34 he was pronounced dead of a heart attack at the age of 64.

Today, I take the court at 3:00 to tip my first game of three for the day....
Not the first time I've officiated on 12/9 since he passed but it's always on my mind that I was not with him when his time came and I was on a basketball court, a place I really enjoy being.

I think my dad would want me out there doing what I do today. I'll officiate with a heavy heart but a smile inside knowing he's helping me with my calls...

Methinks your father is an honourary member of the officiating fraternity.

Do him proud today.
