OOB or foul?

A1 is dribbling up the right-hand sideline in her backcourt, guarded by B1.

B1 has obtained and is maintaining LGP on A1 and, as both are approaching the sideline A1 makes a move up the court trying to get around B1 with her speed. As A1 makes her move, B1 slides in the path of A1. Contact is made which forces A1 out of bounds.

Do you have a foul on B1 or out of bounds on A1?

OOB on A1.

(edited after re-reading the play)

This is probably one of those you'd like to see. However, as it appears to be written, if B1 has established LGP and A1 hasn't gotten their head and shoulders beyond B1, it's out of bounds and B's ball.....right?

That's what I called, and I told the coach when he asked about it that B has the right to a legal defensive position. There wasn't enough contact IMO to justify a foul on A1, so I called OOB. We'll see what bob has to say, though.

Idaho, it's tough to judge without seeing. A defender who has established legal guarding position can move laterally. But, if they would jump in front of a dribbler, that may be different.

When B1 slid in A1's path did she maintian LGP or did she block? You'd almost have to see it.

She merely slid sideways, not forward, which led me to not call a blocking foul and call OOB. B1 definitely did not initiate contact.
