Tech Question

Here's a question I had fun with our membership with. Hope you people can have fun with it also. As time is running down in the second quarter A1 has the ball on a fast break. There is some bumping between A1 and B1 but no foul is called. The period ends with an unsuccessful try by A1. After the horn has sounded, A1 runs over to the covering official, objects to the lack of a foul call and is whistled for a technical foul. What is the correct procedure?

Blow the whistle, make T signal and then report the foul to the table.

Oh, you mean how to administer it and to whom the foul gets charged? ;)

This is charged to both directly to the player and indirectly to the Head Coach as all team members are bench personnel during intermissions. Thus the HC loses his coaching box.

Also part of the question was when it would be it be enforced. This was an easy one for you , but a lot of our people had trouble with the complete procedure.

Ah, yes, that part.
Start of the 3rd quarter and the AP arrow is not affected by the enforcement of the foul. The arrow will remain with the same team following the division line throw-in.

Yeah, but I'm rules freak.:) I may share your play with some of our local guys. It has some very instructive elements.
