16-team College Basketball Invitational
 
Last month it was announced that a third college post-season basketball tournament would start this March.

The Gazelle Group has planned the 16-team College Basketball Invitational tournament, and will directly compete with the 32-team National Invitation Tournament for participants.

Interesting. But I wonder why? The NIT is already almost irrelevant. What's the interest in yet another post-season tournament? Will they offer the participants more money to play?

Do you have a link? Do they have a TV package lined up? CBS has the NCAAs, ESPN has the NIT. CBS owns CSTV now, I think. They gonna put it on Spike or Versus, or something obscure like that?

I tend to agree.

That said, maybe it will be on Fox. Then we can get to hear Billy Packer AND Joe Buck during the post-season! :rolleyes:

Or TNT where we can see more Frank TV commercials.

Finally a tournament that Syracuse can make it into!!:D
