First Official Game

Well, I finally did it. Had my first official girls JV assignment today and it went pretty well. Only one IW and a blown OOB call but other than that it was fun. I still have a list of things I need to work on but it feels good finally getting the classes, scrimmages and test behind me.

Although we use NCAA rules, I really appreciate all the help and information I've gained from everyone (mostly:rolleyes:) on this forum. I've recommended this site to several others looking to increase their knowledge of the game.

I'm looking forward to a great season and I'm going to keep working hard and logging on here for answers. (OK, it's pretty good for the entertainment value too!:D )

Thanks to all.

Just curious as to why NCAA, not NF, rules are being used. Is this how it is in your entire state? Just girls?

To Mark: I think I have read on this forum that NY girls play under NCAA women's rules.

To PYref: Congrats. Glad to hear that it went well. Do as many games as you can early on so you see plays over and over. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Yes. For whatever reason, New York still uses NCAAW rules for girls basketball and NFHS for boys. I do some boys 7/8 grade games as well and it keeps me on my toes with the differences.
