Duke recruit is murdered on CSI! (OK, not really, it's a TV show)

A HS senior named Ryan Lansco was murdered by his girlfriend on CSI this week. According to the plot line, he had been awarded a basketball scholarship to Duke. Apparently, she killed him by accident during a prank teasing him about giving her an STD. Funny, huh?

I'm just curious as to why they chose Duke?

Kinda like Law and Order when prior to some episodes they qualify that the coming episosde is not meant to portray actual people. This means that the episode is inspired from recent events, from what I can gather.

Is this a re-run, I thought I saw this episode before.

Maybe it was to show the Durham Police Dept. and Durham District Attorney's Office how to correctly investigate a crime....and wrap it all up in less than 1hr!

Matlock was the best. Not only did he get the defendant off the hook, he also found who the real criminal was.

Plus, he ate 3 hot dogs every episode. :D

Matlock was a Perry Mason copycat, except for the hot dogs.

Right. Perry Mason is part of the Portland, Oregon lifestyle and nothing else could ever measure up. You aren't truly a Portland native until you've spent at least 50 noon hours in one calendar year watching Perry Mason. In fact, I think it's in the citizenship test, isn't it?

I totally believe it!

Much of TV is recycled now anyways. Take a sitcom and you'll deal with the typical issues. Family Ties had them. The Cosby Show had them. Take a lawyer show - they'll all have similar issues too.

I liked watching the old Outer Limits episodes.

Oh - you mean the Twilight Zone ripoff. ;)
