there are no provisions in the rules for "do-overs"

Finally, the NFHS has put it in writing!!! :)

2007-09 NFHS Basketball Officials Manual
2.6.2D and 3.6.2D

Clock malfunctions occur; there are no provisions in the rules for "do-overs." Know the rules regarding these unusual situations and apply them appropriately.

NevadaRef:

This is truely a day of Thanksgiving. Thank you!! Thank you!! I have to admit that I have not studied the Basketball Officials Manual in detail this year, so there is great rejoicing in the DeNucci household due to your post.

And since this is a day of Thanksgiving I will refrain from saying to all of those naysayers out there: I TOLD YOU SO!! :D

Happy Thanksgiving everybody from the DeNucci Family.

Iirc, most if not all of the arguments on this forum re: do-overs were on situations that were not definitively covered by the rules. For instance, if an OOB throw-in spot is not definitively defined, how does that change anything when it comes to deciding where the throw-in should be? How exactly will this great proclamation help in those situations?

If we don't have a definitive rule, how can we possibly apply one?

Silly monkeys.......

Can you provide an example of an OOB throw-in spot not being defined?
