What ever happened to the hook-shot?

It seems that that move has dissapeared(well at least in the NBA anyway),it is somewhat seen as a ''faggot'' shot to make.

What happened to the ''I wanna be like Kareem Abdul_jabbar'' style of play?

The hook shot is a great weapon.

I don't like your choice of words; however, iIbelieve the hook shot is still used at all levels and in my opinion as an ex player and official of 40+ years it is still the hardest shot to master and without question the most difficult shot to defend. I don't know where you got your misconception. Better explain yourself!
