Message sent......So far
I have watched about 4 or 5 NCAA basketball games on TV and it is clear that the bench decorum message has been received. I have barely seen a coach even get off the bench let alone complain about anything. And in some cases there have been some tough calls and you do not even see a reaction.
The most I have seen is John Calhoun was coaching and his foot was on the line. That is the first time I saw a coach that was "technically" out of the box. It seems like the coaches have adjusted. Peace |
My personal opinion is that the game is being called tighter too.
I believe that both of these POEs are good for the game. The UNC/Davidson game was a great example. The stronger and more physical UNC players were made to play basketball with skill and were not allowed to bully the Davidson players under the basket. It turned out to be an excellent contest. |
Did Jeff Capel get a T for a coaching box violation?
Peace |
Looks like Jeff Capel of OK got one for complaining outside the box. OK was just whistled for a foul, and they were getting ready to go to a TV TO when the announcers mentioned he got the T. After they came from the TV TO, they were showing the official pointing to spot just on the floor.
Certainly not a call that's been seen over the last several years. |
I did see Calhoun yell out "What the f*%k was that" after a call against his team last night. It was pretty clear since ESPN had a close up on his face at the time and you could hear it faintly over the audio.
Nothing came of it though... |

I also agree and that coaches need to concentrate more on coaching than what officials are doing or not doing. We shall see as the season goes on.

I don't necessarily agree with using profanity with players, but that comment was directly at them and not the officials so that's probably why they let it go. |

Wtf
So we shouldn't expect people to be more civilizied and use appropriate language?? Poor language is mearly a sign of a lack of self respect, IMHO.
