That's just mean. (True, but mean. :))

budjones05, I would go to the source, such as the person assigning the league. Afaik, there are no specific "rec league rules"; each league has their own set based upon what they want to do. Some leagues use NCAA as the basis, others use NFHS; many use running clocks and those rules aren't found in either rule set. Some sponsoring bodies, such as a town's park district, may even have different rules for different leagues.

Bottom line, find out from the league sponsor or the person assigning what rules you will be using on those nights.

(Then get better so you won't have to work those games anymore... ;))

True, so true. One league here has a "no diving" rule. And this is basketball, not water polo! :)

Nobody gets stuck doing them unless they say, "Yes."

I think (from re-reading the OP), that he has the rules and wants someone to 'splain them to him.

Nope, I work for the a local rec league and without me helping them with rules and being in charge of basketball this year, there will not be any basketball games period because of the parents. Now this is my first year in a position to make rules and I was wanting your feedback on the rules that I have so far are too strict or too loose.
