After a great 3 point game last night we sit in the locker room have a short post-game talk, shower and then leave. As we are walking out the winning (visiting) coach comes over and and asks if we signed the book (partner (R) never does). He says no and the coach asks for our names. We kind of look at him with a puzzled look on our face and he says "No, No we want to make sure you guys work the playoffs, You did a great job tonight" As we are walking out the door we look at each other and say that was a nice complement. We'll take it.

Needless to say we will both be doing playoffs and the state tournament as well as the Commnunity College Championship tourney.

BTW, Both coaches were peaches all night. Asking instead of yelling. Players were having a great time. The fans.......well, we all know about the fans...........Reminds me why I do this.

State championship game this year? Good job

The High School state tourney and the Community College Tourney.

Of course I would love to work the championship game, but there's alot of competition at the level.

Just looking forward to the experience

Ron,

Congrats on the assignments! That is a nice compliment to your ability.

Remember however, that the winning coaches positive comments probably aren't any more believable than negative comments coming from the losing coach. :) Anyone with a stake in the outcome of a game is a poor source for referee evaluation.

But when the losing coach.... I had that after a JH game a week ago. After the game the losing coach came over and told us that it was the best called game they had ever had.

I'll take that! (We were both HS officials just filling in, so it makes sense. I've seen what they usually get....)

Congrats Ron!

I was fortunate enough to be chosen for the Washington State Boys 2A tourney in Yakima this year! I am looking forward to this experience as well. It's been a long road, but one that has been very rewarding.

Congrats to all you other officials who are reaching your goals! Post season is approaching!

Dan
