Whils his response is definitely out of line....

LUBBOCK, Texas -- The Big 12 on Tuesday slapped Texas Tech coach Mike Leach with the largest fine in conference history for his harsh criticism of game officials after last week's loss to Texas.
Leach's fine of $10,000 was twice the previous high.
Leach was issued a public reprimand and the Big 12 "put him on notice that any future such behavior will result in a more serious penalty, including a possible suspension," the conference said in a news release.
Leach and Tech athletic department officials were not commenting on the sanctions, spokesman Chris Cook said.
After No. 12 Texas beat the Red Raiders 59-43 Saturday, Leach condemned the officiating crew in Austin, calling their work "a complete travesty."
The eighth-year coach was upset officials disallowed two Tech touchdowns in the third quarter, the first on an overrule after reviewing video that clearly showed the receiver let the ball hit the ground. A TD pass on the next play was negated by a holding penalty. Leach also wanted, but didn't get, a flag for roughing the quarterback.
"Coach Leach's public statements called into question the integrity and competence of game officials and the conference's officiating program," Big 12 commissioner Dan Beebe said.
At his weekly meeting with media Monday, Leach did not retreat from his comments, but avoided repeating them.
On Saturday, Leach noted without naming him that referee Randy Christly lives in Austin.
He said the conference needs "to take a serious look" at having officials from other conferences call the Tech-Texas games as well as others involving matchups where he claimed there is proven to be a bias by officials.
The Big 12 had twice fined coaches $5,000.
Three years ago, Kansas coach Mark Mangino was fined for suggesting after a last-second loss to Texas that officials wanted the Longhorns to win because it kept alive their hopes for a lucrative Bowl Championship Series bid.
During the 2005-06 basketball season, former Kansas State coach Jim Wooldridge was docked $5,000 for criticizing officials after a 71-70 loss at Oklahoma.

"proven bias?"

Nice.

Looks grim for #2 Oregon right now. They trail Arizona 24-11 with ten minutes left in the 2nd quarter and their starting QB, Dixon, has left the game with an injured left knee.

14-31 at the half. Dixon out for the game, and maybe longer. Wow. Right about now they're wishing they'd put either more time into Leaf, or more time into finding another qb. So much for the vaunted Ducks. -- sigh --

Way too dependent on one player. I'm so depressed.

Coming back...24-31 with 7 min left.

It's not over yet.

Arizona kicked a field goal and now leads by 10.

With Oregon's loss tonight to Arizona, I am so glad that the Big 12 and the SEC have championship games to end the season, because if the cards fall the Buckeyes way, they can still make it ot the BCS Championship game after the beat the team up north.

<!-- end page tools --><!-- begin story body --><!-- template inline -->WALNUT CREEK, Calif.-- The Pac-10 Conference has suspended the replay official in last week's Washington-Oregon State game for failing to stop the game to conduct a review.
The officiating crew will also miss out on any chance to work a postseason game, the conference announced Wednesday.
Those same game officials were cleared of any problems resulting from four ejections and a slew of personal foul penalties late in the game, where Washington quarterback Jake Locker was injured on a helmet-to-helmet hit.

Lets see. Michigan loses to Appy State (unranked) and loses to Wisconsin (unranked). Ohio State loses to the Fighting Illini in the Horseshoe (unranked).
Even if they beat Michigan (last game of the season) no more games to seek redemption. The "fat lady" is about to take the stage. Best you can hope for is to "smell the roses"

Too bad. It's it would have been nice to see a (Oregon) different team getting a shot at the "brass ring". Take it from a Cubs Fan there's always next year.
