as soon as the ball is released on the throw in stop your 5 sec. count, and do not chop the clock until the ball has been touched legally inbounds(rolling or thrown).

Sorry but that's not rue. The clock starts when the ball is touched inbounds, whether legal or not.

If play is resumed by a throw-in, the clock shall be started when the ball touches, or is touched by, a player on the court after it is released by the thrower.

Even if you have an violation, such as basket interference or a kick, the clock still starts.

IMHO:
If you're going to say that someone else's post is "not true," you should at least proceed such a statement with a caveat. Such as, "while that statement may be true on other levels, it is not correct in a h.s. game." the original poster did ask for both the NCAA and NFHS answer and i think we all know by now the Crew will provide NCAA answers.

Crew's answer is 100% correct in a college game.

To be fair, maybe Crew could've proceeded his post with a simple: "NCAA rules, etc..."
