Correctable error question

Here's my hypothetical situation:

Following a basket by A1, but before the ball is at B1's disposal for the throwin, B2 shoves A2.
Lead calls the Tech.
For whatever reason, the Trail thought the call was a live ball intentional personal foul, and informs A2 that he must shoot the free throws after A3 informs him that he will be the shooter.
Immediately after missing his first free throw, coach notices the wrong player shot the free throw and requests the error be corrected.

Does this qualify as the wrong player being awarded a free throw? Is it correctable, by rule?

I would not say the "wrong" player shot the free throw, rather it may not be the person the coach wanted to shoot the free throws. I say the first free throw stands (because any Team A player may shoot the Tech) and Team A may use another shooter for the second attempt. Play on....

Let me see if I understand this situation correctly. Are you saying the official originally thought this was a personal, not a technical, foul? So he told the fouled player he must be the shooter after another player (under the assumption it was a technical) said he would shoot. The coach, thinking it was a technical, expected the other player (A3) to take the shots and is claiming there is an error on the part of the official.

And now, you want to know if this qualifies as a correctable error. Is this right?

Yes. I was bored Saturday night.

2.10.1.c. A rule was inadvertantly set aside (procedure for a technical foul) and the wrong player shot the FT. Correctible error if caught no later than the first dead ball after the clock properly started after the FT.
