I just want to find out if this was handled correctly:

With several seconds left, there was a common foul on the floor. It was the 7th foul, but no one from the table notified us. The game restarted, and without further stoppage, the quarter ended. During halftime, the table notified us we missed the 1-and-1 situation. We decided to shoot the 1-and-1 to start the third quarter, without anyone on the lane, and proceed to begin the "real" third quarter with the AP arrow.

Was this correct?

BTW, no coaches in this league - Intramurals, with NFHS rules (except for a few minor changes, and Correctable errors are not one of them).

Thanks!

When you say there was no further stoppage of play, what do you mean? Clock didn't stop? No more baskets were scored?

I beleive that you did right, assuming the only dead ball after the foul was the end of the half. Trivial, but, if I was a scorer, I think I would count the FT points for the 2nd quarter.

Other than the end of the quarter, following the foul, the clock started, ran for 3-4 seconds until the end of the quarter, and then stopped for that. I was trying to word it so that the discovery of the problem was during the first dead ball following the error.
