To my knowledge, all states use NF for basketball, although some do use modifications such as a shot clock.

Yes, NY State does indeed use NF rules. However, modifications are also used around the state. In Nassau County (Long Island) for example, we do not use the coaches box. Also, we have 4 full- and 2 30-second timeouts per regulation game.

Depends on what HS league in NY you're talking about.
Some high schools I work go pure NFHS, no shot clock, 3 full
and two 30 TO. Some leagues use the shot clock with 4
full & two 30 TO, but you are limited to one 30 per half.
Some leagues care more about the coaches box than others.
Girls HS in NYS generally use slightly modifed NCAA women's
rules: four 8 minute quarters, all T's are 2 shots plus the
ball.

What's up with those shirts. I saw some NYC HS highlights over the weekend on MSG Network and saw officials with GOLD shirts.

It's news to me. Maybe you need to get your TV set looked
at? ;)
