Kids Ref Jersey

Hi All,

My Wife and I thought it would be cute to have my 18 month old dress as a ref for some of the games they come and see. He Already has a whistle and uses it quite often at home.

Anyone know where I can find a miniture version of the striped jersey.

Unfortunately neither my wife or I have the talent to sew one up ourselves.

Thanks

Just go down to the local costume shop and pick up a zebra outfit.:)

Hmm, might not be quite long enough for an 18 month old. ;)

Honig's has some kids sizes. I'm not sure how small they go.

Not to be a scrooge but...

Are you sure that something you want to do?

Going to the game is one thing, but the last thing I would want for my wife and child is to bring undue attention to them in a potential hostile environment.

Maybe for Halloween or something it would be fun.

Thanks Eyezen.

I would like to see someone try to approach my wife and child in a negative fashion.

I would probably stop the game to watch her tear a strip of the person.

WE will also be usuing it for halloween.

Thanks for the info.

I wasn't implying your wife couldn't take care of herself but why even go there.

See now you got even more problems than the game itself.

But hey if that's what you want to do then go for it.

It would be cool if your kid's first word is "T". :D

Just be sure you know where game management is just in case someone has to leave the premises. ;)

15+ years ago, my wife used to come to my baseball games after she got off of work. She'd usually show up somewhere around the 3rd or 4th inning. I'd go over between innings and greet her (as any newlywed would greet his wife) and we'd chat for a minute. I had to laugh because inevitably all the negative comments from that side of the bleachers would stop for the rest of the game. Good times.

But I can't imagine wanting my wife or kids to come to one of my basketball games. There is just too much stuff that gets said. I don't know if it's just the changing times, or if basketball fans are just more callous than baseball fans, or perhaps it's the stupid people in large groups effect. But if people knew she was my wife, somebody at some game is going to take it upon him or herself to deliberately say something hurtful to her. Sad times.

That's exactly why my wife stopped coming to games I worked. At least, that's what she told me.

Also - once when my younger daughter was about 14, she was watching a game I was working when some clown started yelling at me. My daughter turned around to him and said, "He may be a bad ref but he's a good Dad, so shut up."

I had a talk with her later about that "bad ref" comment. ;)

Your daughter employed an excellent rhetorical strategy: since she conceded that he might be right, she gave him a reason for shutting up with which he couldn't argue.

Very clever. I wonder where she got it.
