WOW!!!! You really, really like me. :D

Guys (and Juulie), this was a great birthday. I spent the day in Ann Arbor watching my Wolverines beat up on Penn State. I was born in Ann Arbor and to spend the day in my home town for the first time since I was 3 years old (some say that was last year :D) on my birthday. For those that do not know, my parents met at Michigan and my mother got her PhD there as well soon after I was born. So the place has a special place in my “Hart.”

If you ever go to Ann Arbor, may I suggest that you go to Weber Restaurant to get a really good meal. The food is really good and the band on Saturday can jam a little. Good times were had by all. They were playing some George Clinton (“Roller Coster”) like they were actually in the band.

BTW, there is still enough room for the Rutgers’s bandwagon. (What a win for Syracuse huh?) :D

Peace

Well, seeing your birthday is now over, we can get back to normal.:)

It looks like your Wolverines can beat Big 10 teams and Notre Dame. Geeze, D2 teams can do that! When you have to play real football teams though, you're in deep doo-doo. :D

Great win for Syracuse. I'm still laughing at Notre Dame too. Wonder if they'll give Weiss a better shot than they gave Willingham. The only good year that Weiss has had there, he had it with Willingham's players.

RE: Hart's TD:
"Paterno was among the doubters.
"I have yet to see it," he said, barely audible, actually mumbling. "I was told by my men upstairs that he was a yard short."
Paterno questioned one of the officials on the sidelines.
"He said he didn't make the call," Paterno said." - detnews.com

I am guessing the official wasn't expecting to be quoted.
Ouch !

JRutledge Sun Sep 23, 2007 10:26am

I was on that goal line from the stands. It is really hard to tell for sure, but it was clear that Hart lunged at the line and got the ball very close to the line. I am not sure many camera angles could have satisfied Joe Pa.

As far as I am concerned, tell your running back to hold on to the football inside the 20 and you might have won the darn game. ;)

Peace

I saw that one too. I didn't think that he got close to getting in either. Looked to me like he went down and then lunged in after being down. But....it was hard to really tell. I woulda liked to have seen a replay on that one, but they didn't show one iirc.

I think that play can be reviewed now in the Big 10 anyway. If PSU didn't ask for one........

JRutledge Sun Sep 23, 2007 10:52am

There were about 4 plays reviewed during the game. I do not know if PSU initiated any of those replay reviews. There were at least two plays they could have asked for review. One was a fumble inside the Michigan 20 that a PSU running back lost. It was hard to tell by the replay we were shown in the stadium if this was the right call because they only show it twice and the replay angles are not the same as they show on TV sometimes. For the record all plays are reviewed in NCAA Football and the Technical Advisor can stop any play being started by contacting the crew and shutting down a play before it gets started. So the TA must have thought the call was OK or they would have reviewed it. I do know the wing official took his time before making a call.

Peace

As a belated birthday present Jeff, I would be honored to give you 2 tickets to the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl on December 15, in beautiful Salem, VA, to watch your Wolverines play.

(If they make it that far.)

Happy Belated Birthday! :D

How did you get those tickets? Illinois never goes to Bowl games. ;)

That's nothing to be ashamed off. All mine were born after I was married too.
