Off topic - can't brag this week
As I'm sure you're all sick of hearing by now, I love to brag about the athletic prowess of my grandchildren. The soccer star in the family is my granddaughter Lauren. She's in 5th grade this year. Last season, she averaged 3 goals per game. In her first game this year, her team played against a 6th grade team. She scored all the goals in a 2-0 victory. However, yesterday, they played against another 5th grade team and she didn't score all her teams goals so she was disappointed. She only had 2 goals and 2 assists in a 4-1 victory. She felt she could have scored the other 2 goals, but she didn't want to be "selfish", so she passed to open teammates. I told her she did the right thing and that next week, I was sure she'd have all the goals again. That made her feel better.
BTW - before the game, I asked her what the name of the other team was. She replied, "They're called the future losers." Hmmm....I wonder where she gets the attitude??? |

Since none of you really care, I thought I'd post an update.
Including today's game, her team is now 4-0, has outscored their opponents 15-3 and Lauren has 9 of her teams goals, including the first 3 today in a 5-0 win. BTW - my grandson Tyler, the baseball all-star who just turned 13, played nine holes of golf today on a regulation sized course and shot a 49. He's only been playing for 6 months and has had no lessons. Frankly, I wish I had their athletic ability. |
I am happy when I shoot my age for nine holes. It doesn't happen often. I shoot your age more often, though. FWIW.
