Most games?

A few days ago, a friend asked me what was the most number of games I ever worked in a single day. I did a little schedule research and found that two years ago, I worked nine kids rec games in a single day (all boys). I started with four straight 6th grade seven-minute quarter games beginning at 8:15 am, had a lunch break, worked three middle school 10 minute running quarter games for another league in the afternoon and finished up with two 20 minute running half games for a varsity level tournament that night. I got home after 11:00 pm.

This was on a Saturday. The next day, I slept pretty much all day.

What was your busiest day?

BTW - if I remember correctly (and there's certainly no precedence for that), I gave out a total of 10 Ts that day - averaging over one per game. That's well below my average. I must have been really tired. :p

11 games in 1 day.

30 games in 1 week.

14 games in one day. this was about 4 yrs ago but it was unbelievable and what's worse is that I was 17 or 18 at the time and the other guy had to work 14 as well and he was in his early 50s. I gave him major props.

went up to Las Vegas with some friends a few years ago. Called a tournament director who was running a HS girls tourney, he put me in touch with the assignor (of course we were strangers to each other), who told me he'd get me 4 or 5 games to work. The day before I got up there he called and gave me a total of 32 games in 5 days... day three was 12 games, but one was a forfeit... so 11 is my record. AAU 16-18u girls, and part of the boys adidas big time tourney that the referee camp didn't cover.

I think my most in a single day has been five games, which has happened a few times (all have been either intramurals or AAU/rec ball).

The worst was when I had spent the early afternoon doing scorebook for two back-to-back college league tourney games, then spent the evening reffing five IM games. Physically, I was fine. Mentally, I was so out of shape that there were times I had no idea what I was calling. Never will I do that again.

I worked 14 Varsity boys games in a day. Called at least one technical in every game, and threw out 2 coaches and 4 players. Goodtimes, but never again.

How long were these games that you could get in 14 of them in one day? At 90 minutes each, 14 games would take 21 hours!

I think the most I have ever worked was 9. I did this about 10+ years ago when I did not know any better. I learned quickly not to do that again.

Peace

Modified clock?!?!?!?! If the games ran on the hour, they were probably about 2/3 the time of a regular game. That means your 14 games were the equivalent of about 9 1/3 regular games. Not a full 14, but still a lot. I hope you had meal breaks and bio breaks.
