A1 to inbound on an AP throw-in. On the throw-in, A2 kicks the ball. It's now a throw-in for team B die to the violation by team A. Question: does team A retain the AP arrow?

No, Team A violated during the throw-in, so the throw-in ends and they lose the arrow.
6-4-4 . . . The direction of the possession arrow is reversed immediately after an alternating-possession throw-in ends. An alternating-possession throw-in ends when the throw-in ends or when the throw-in team violates. Last edited by Nevadaref; Mon Jul 16, 2007 at 08:41pm. |

6-4-5 . . . The opportunity to make an alternating-possession throw-in is lost if the throw-in team violates. If either team fouls during an alternating-possession throw-in, it does not cause the throw-in team to lose the possession arrow. Now we'll sit back and await the arrival of Old Fool. ![]() |

Mark: I will bite. I will say that because Team A committed a throw-in violation because it did not pass the ball such that it was legally touched by a player on the court (inbounds or out-of-bounds), and therefore A2's kicking violation causes the AP Arrow to be reversed. MTD, Sr.
