Time out question

Team A recieves a technical/// Team B requests a time out immediately....
Grant it after or before team A shoots their awarded shots? Can't find it in my rulebook...

It's a dead ball. Grant it when requested. Also - hope it's an excessive TO by team B so you have a technical against them, too. Just adds to the fun. ;)

thanks Mark. That is what I thought, but not wished... Another official said you can't "ice a Technical".... nice thought but not backed up by the rule book

Mark is correct, but report the technical foul to the scorer's table first, followed by reporting the timeout request. Once the timeout is over, grab the Team B shooter and continue from there.

IOW, do not do this: report the timeout, wait for the timeout to expire, and then after the timeout is complete, report the technical foul.

Say Team B Coach already has two indirect technical fouls. What do you do then? ;)

Hopefully nothing. An excess TO is charged to the team only. There is no additional indirect "T" involved.

No pulling a fast one on JR.

JR is correct.

Is the person on the court a real official or Old Fool? ;)

There's no telling what he would do in such a situation!

I think it was Fox News. They're fair and balanced and their story was about someone who is unfair and unbalanced - mostly the latter.

Not only can the opposing team get a timeout before the first shot, they can get a timeout before the second shot, also. Tell the official who said you can't "ice" a technical to borrow a rulebook - and then read it.

Forget the rules. Just call what you think is right and fair. Quit drinking the koolaid, and don't forget to protect the good players.

What about the bad players, you say? Screw'm. They should have practiced more.

Is this a trick question? If Team A received a technical foul, why are they awarded shots?

All these replies and you were the only one to notice that! Take a cookie out of petty cash.

BTW - he didn't say Team A received a technical foul, he said they recieves one. You know - "i" after "e" except before "c". :D

HAHA - I caught something too (and I hope I can take shots for it, but not until after the timeout).

DAMN - no meds again today.
