Out of bounds question
Team B made basket, calls timeout. Team A can obviously run baseline. Instead of running with the ball on the baseline, player A dribbles while he's moving back and forth across baseline? My partner was next to him when he did it. I was watching players at half court With team B in the press. Coach went crazy, I didn't see it. Has anyone ever had this happen?

I couldn't figure out a reason why it wouldn't be legal. Team B coach calls time-out when he gets the ball to discuss play. That's when my partner explained what took place. I said I didn't know why that would make a difference. I just wanted to throw it out there to see if we missed something. I can't think of any time I've seen that happen.

Yep, seen it time & time again. That's an easy one because of the made basket. Get a rule book coach(es)!!
I had a spot throw-in last night on the endline following a violation, the player moves one step left, two steps right... Partner puts that real confident air in the Fox 40 & crisply signals traveling violation. Since it was a "playoff game" we conferenced & I tried to explain to him that: 1. there is no travel on a throw-in 2. the spot is 3 feet wide & depth is no factor. He didn't believe me so we bet the pay for that game... Had 4 games, 1 was a forfiet so I got paid for 5 games & only worked 3 ![]() |
