I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I think it's true but can't find it in the book.
97. It is a violation if A1 causes the ball to enter and pass through the basket from below.

Violation for sure. Check your case book 9.4 sitch B, page 64.

Anytime a ball goes throught the ring from below, it's a dead ball and the team that didn't cause the violation is entitled to a throw in. Or, use the AP if you're not sure who touched it last.

Rule 9-4. IT's lumped together with kicking the ball, striking it with a fist and traveling.
