This question is in regards to crew's post about intentionally scoring a basket for the other team in order to allow the clock to run out.

I agree that the clock should continue to run and the to points be given to white. However, what should be done if A1(white team) fouls B2(Blue team) while b2 is shooting at Team A's basket and would the basket still count if B2 made the basket after being fouled during the shot?

Just a situation that I thought might be possible any opinions or thoughts would be appreciated.

No basket. Continuous Motion only applies towards your own basket.

This would be a "common personal foul", not a shooting foul. The basket would not count since the ball became dead as soon as the foul occurred, and the normal provision allowing for a ball to remain live during a try does not apply to the wrong basket. This is because a "try" is defined as "an attempt by a player to score...by throwing the ball into a team's own basket."

That is what I figured should happen but I didn't have my rule book to make sure. Thanks.
