UT/SA Goaltending Call

Game 1 - 1st Quarter - 4:49 remaining. Tony parker drives the lane, defended by Fisher. Kirilenko also comes in on the play. As Parker goes for the lay in, he's fouled, the shot seems to glance off the bottom of the rim, and as it is descending, Kililenko tips it back up and over the basket, and they call a Goaltend. Did anyone see it? It didn't look like a Goaltend to me, as the shot had already hit off the bottom of the rim and was on the way back down, having no chance of going in, when Kirilenko touched it.

After seeing the replay, I agree with you Whistles. In real time however, it was a difficult time. The ref had to determine 1) if there was a foul? 2) was it in the act of shooting? and 3) was there goaltending?

Hmmm, one official isn't responsible for all of that. The official who doesn't have the shot coming from his/her primary has the basket and any violation that may occur. If it was clearly below the rim, that should have been an easy call.
