I have a quick question: One of my players asked if he would be allowed to sit during a free throw. We are talking about the shooter. As long as he remains within the semicircle, what, if any, call could be made - I think he is trying to horse around, and still attempt the shot. Silly question, but it got me wondering - ideas?

Sounds like that may border on taunting/baiting.

Under the category of "this is good enough for a team as bad as yours is! You guys are a joke! See? I am funny too."

There's no rule that specifically prohibits it
But, hopefully, his coach will.

I called a technical foul on a coach in a rec game.
I told him he could no longer use the coaching box and that he had to sit down.
He sat down on the floor.
I had to decide between whacking him again, or making him use the floor and not a chair for the rest of the gme.
I made him use the floor. :)

I agree that it could be considered taunting. If he wants to shoot a 1 and 1 with no time left on the clock and his team down 1 then I say go for it. If he's doing it with his team up 30 then I think it would be unsporting. Just my opinion.

BktBallRef: Did you make him to sit on the floor "outside" of the coaching box? Since he couldn't use the coaching box while standing/kneeling/squatting because of the T, I would not allow him to use it while sitting.
