Semi Off-Topic: FHSAA Question
Apparently, Florida (home of FSU and UF, among other schools) is likely going to start testing athletes in football, baseball and weightlifting for steroids.
http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hig...=ESPNHeadlines I'm wondering if anyone from Florida can explain why the state legislature is the group controlling this? Is FHSAA considered a branch of state government? Do any other states work this way? |
The FHSAA is overseen by the state legislature. Here is an Orlando Sentinel article discussing that exact relationship and how contentious it has been.
http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sport...s-headlines-hs I really haven't heard much at the local level about steroid testing. |
