Similar to my question about officiating a game on a cruise ship when it crosses the international date line and it's now yesterday.

I know we have some baseball umpires here: What if the batter hits the ball over the outfield wall, but hits it so hard that the ball travels all the way around the earth, back into the stadium and the pitcher catches the ball? Home run or out?

Jon Diebler must play baseball on the off-season.

It's only actually happened once, though. It went right through the pitchers' gloves the rest of the time, and he settled for a triple. Of course, he stole home on the next pitch.

That sounds a lot like the old Bugs Bunny cartoon, where Bugs played against the Marauders, except that Bugs climbed the Empire State Building to catch the home run. As I recall, the umpire called the batter out.

"You heard what the man said!"
