Help jog my memory.....Is the number 1 a legal number? Please respond with both NFHS and NCAA coverage. Thank you.

1 became a legal number in NF this year: Rule 3-4-3. It also legal in NCAA as one of Michigan's freshmen wears it and they haven't been starting all their games with T's...

Yes, but you cannot have both a 0 and a 00 on the same team.

Perhaps it's some other number in Padgett years.

Whew, I'm glad you pointed that out. I was about to whip myself with chseagle's taser for missing this change. I started officiating in 2001 so #1 has always been legal for me.

Legal, and also, "One is the loneliest number that you'll ever do".

1 has been legal in NF for more than just this year (I'm pretty sure). I thought "1" was made legal when they made "2" legal which was at least 12-15 years ago. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
