dblref According to the casebook, if a "fan-shaped" backboard is being used, the ball remains live. It is dead if a rectangular backboard is used. Does anyone still use a "fan-shaped" backboard?

Hawks Coach We have some old gyms with old equipment in our area, some of them in middle schools. So amazingly, we still have some fan shaped backboards - but not many! None for HS level.
