what is it about bird doggin players when you have a foul?
i thought that went out in the 80's. i laugh every time i see a ref do it. please justify why! (besides that it is in the rule book)

The fact that it is in the mechanics manual (at least for NF) and an assignor/supervisor tells me to do it works for me!

Well, it didn't and there's no need to laugh. It's still required in many areas by local supervisors or by state associations.

Lots of mechanics serve little or no purpose. But we do what's required of us.
