How we appear to the outside world.

I found this video and can only conclude that this is how the outside world views us.

Seems like pretty sound mechanics to me. I especially like the “exaggerated” three point goal signal.:D

The beauty of YouTube: any video can make its way onto the Net.
The horror of YouTube: any video can make its way onto the Net.

Unfortunately, just wasn't that funny...

tjones1 Fri Mar 02, 2007 03:17pm

I thought it was somewhat funny. I might have you use his "you want some tea...," well I'll give you a T. ;)

Mark Padgett Fri Mar 02, 2007 04:03pm

I didn't know Old School made a video.

You gotta have a sense of humor.

I loved the waving off the play and calling a PC foul. That was really funny.

Peace

co2ice Fri Mar 02, 2007 04:34pm

Hey, that ref sure knows how to take a CHARGE!!!!:D

blindmanwalking Fri Mar 02, 2007 05:38pm

The ref taking the charge was the funniest part. Made me laugh. :D

grunewar Fri Mar 02, 2007 05:54pm

I took copious notes!

Can't wait to get out there this weekend and try some of these new techniques. I bet I can get a lof of attention if I just keep blowing the whistle repeatedly as is demonstrated here.

Thanks for sharing! :D

mplagrow Sat Mar 03, 2007 03:10pm

Actually, I thought the portrayal of the coach was pretty dead-on balls accurate.

....and he even got the call right!

Good T's, too :D

bigdogrunnin Sun Mar 04, 2007 09:52am

I thought it was pretty good myself. Even chuckled out loud 2-3 times. That someone would take the time and effort to put that together is a testament to the fact that officials ARE in the limelight, every time we walk onto the floor.

Ref Daddy Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:13am

Gotta love the Jump Ball techniques!

ChrisSportsFan Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:30am

I thought it was pretty funny. Especially the windmill action on the charge call.

"You guys want some tea and crumpets?" "Well, here's some tea for you" LOLOLOL

Corndog89 Sun Mar 04, 2007 09:43pm

That was freaking hysterical...even my wife was laughing out loud. Saturday Night Live should hire that kid!

Scatmaster Sun Mar 04, 2007 09:48pm

Hey!!!

Isn't 58 an Illegal number?

MJT Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:07pm

One of the funniest things I have seen in a long time!!!! I will be forwarding that clip on to all the officials and coaches I know.

Scatmaster Sun Mar 04, 2007 10:13pm

Ricky Butler...

AKA Jon Diebler?

SNL stopped hiring funny people some time ago.

tjones1 Mon Mar 05, 2007 01:01am

Yeah, I had to watch it again and laughed!

I control what goes on here, hit the horn...see that was me.

My friend Ernie was a big SNL fan. When we used to hang out, I would bug him whenever he brought up SNL: "Hey Ernie, I hear they're coming out with a comedy version of Saturday Night Live." It's kinda lame, but still garnished the snicker from surrounding people.

More Cowbell

From canuckrefguy: "More Cowbell"

We were just talking about this at work today. There are so many musicians at my laboratory, that I suggested that we start a band, but, since I don't play an instrumant, or sing very well, I said that I couldn't be in the band. My colleague said that I could play the cowbell. I brought up the Saturday Night Live "Cowbell" skit, but nobody could remember the group or song for the "cowbell" skit. I'm sure some Forum members can help me out.

Terrapins Fan Mon Mar 05, 2007 08:19pm

Now that was funny.

I think I have worked with that guy a few times this year....

Thanks Whistles and Stripes - "MORE COWBELL" and gold plated diapers!

mplagrow Mon Mar 05, 2007 10:29pm

Yeah, the cowbell was one of the last great skits.

Corndog89 Mon Mar 05, 2007 11:50pm

I graduated from the referee school of officiating, and that's not easy to do!

You're missing a good game out here Bill!

That was great! Good humor..

Larks Wed Mar 07, 2007 12:11am

That was hilarious....

"You guys want some tea and crumpets?"
