CCA Jacket cleaning

OK....need expert advice on proper cleaning of your CCA "Sahara" warm-up jacket. I have normally just washed it in cold water and hung it on a hanger to dry. It says not to "Dry Clean" it.

Any tips from the "rank & file" would be appreciated.

Don't dry clean. I had a friend try that and he lost the elacticity in the collar.
I wash in cold water, air dry in dryer then hang it up for a few hours to finish drying, then fold and put away till next year.

I washed mine with a regular load of dark clothes and it came out looking kind of like "stone washed" jeans -- faded, but not really gray. Not sure why it came out that way, but it's noticable. I'll have to get a new jacket next year.

This rag is a overpriced piece of crap!

If you wash it, it'll fall apart.

Throw it away.

I sent mine to the dry cleaner last year and it came back like new. I won't do it again, but it needs a cleaning to be sure.

Simply "dry it" (do not wash it) with one of those static/freshener sheets in the dryer.

That's not going to clean it if it's dirty.

Rumor

During the later part of the season, my partners started saying there will be new college jackets next season. Anyone else heard this?

Maybe they'll have white "pit bands" down the sides.

Wash on cold with woolite or some light detergent, and on the lightest wash cycle you have.

I have Sahara jackets for both HS and the CCA one, and have washed them like this. I agree, however, that this isn't the sturdiest jacket ever. My blue one has a rip in the lining from repeated washings, but I wasn't as careful back then.

I mentioned it here: http://forum.officiating.com/showthr...college+jacket

I haven't heard anything definite yet, though.

What!!! What type of jacket do you have and exactly when did you get it? I wash mine all the time, no problem, looks good enough and you can't tell it from my partners when I wear it. I can't believe that dry cleaning messes it up!

I have had no problem washing and drying my Sahara Jacket. I even have a Sahara Jacket for my HS games with an IHSA logo on it. I just bought another jacket last year for HS games where I have washed the jacket only a few times. It still looks like it did when I purchased it last year. The only reason I bought another jacket was because the logo was coming off (with the IHSA logo). I still have my first jacket and it looks very good. I guess if you are trying to wash the jacket every other day, I can see where they might not look very good. I also dry them in the dryer at a very low setting and I have never had a problem. Also every official I know that has one of these jackets, love these jackets. I guess it is how you take care of them.

Peace
