Friday night in a boys varsity game, we had a tie game with about 2:00 left in the fourth quarter when the visiting teams coach
approached me during a timeout asking if the band was allowed to keep playing the drums making more noise while his team was shooting free throws.(his team had just missed 4 or 5 in a row) I told him they could play as much as they wanted. Was i correct in my answer. I cant seem to find it anywhere in the rule book. Your help would be appreciated.

If the band played 'exclusively' while team B attempted their free throws, then you were wrong. Notify the team A coach and/or the game administrator. Make sure they understand, if they 'drag' their feet in any way, that you'll continue the game with a technical foul and the band outside the building. Be firm and professional. But, give them a reasonable amount of time to avoid the technical.

Try 2-8-1 and 2.8.1B

In Washington Bands are not allowed to play while the ball is live and only allowed to play during full timeouts, between quarters, and at the half.

Next time, try to see if you can get away with this:

Tell the coach of the offending team that since the band is officially sponsored by the school, you are considering them bench personnel and they will be held to those standards. If three band members continue to disrupt an opposing free throw shooter, that's three indirect Ts on the coach and he is outta here.
