5th foul question...
 

BJV, A-1 shoots, B-1 fouls A-1,two shot foul, I am the lead and call the foul. (2 man) I report to the table. Table informs me it was the 5th foul. Player already knows it and heads toward the bench. I inform the coach, He grabs a player and sends him in (i am assuming for the disqualified player) as the sub goes in and another player goes out I stop the substitution until B-1 is replaced (coach gets perturbed at me). Coach subs in in a timely manner. I only allowed the sub for the disqualified player and then on the second shot allowed the rest of the subs to enter. Is this proper procedure? (note, I cannot find my mechanics book and would normally look it up). Thanks in advance. This is normally how I handle this situation but there was a "seasoned Varsity" official who said that I should sub all in on the 5th foul substitution.

Let them all in. See 3-3-1c Exception

You were right to hold the subs until the coach got the sub for the disqualified player. Once that sub was there, though, you let them all in.

I try to remember to ask if the player coming in is for the DQ'd player.
