Players with Tatoo's

With more kids having tatoo's what is proper?
Is a cross and skull ok?
Is an american flag ok?
If the game officials think that a tatoo is bringing attention to the player should we have them cover it? Does anyone think that the National High School Federation will address this issue in the off season. I think it will be a problem in the future!!!

NFHS has nothing against tattoos. Some states regulate these. Check with your state governing body.

According to the NF everything is OK. We are not go get involved in what kinds of ink a kid puts on their body.

BTW, the NF addressed this issue years ago with a rule, then the following year got rid of it. This should tell you all you need to know.

Peace

Not sure that an "F-bomb" tattoo would be appropriate...

I am not looking at tattoos that closely in the first place. That is for the school and coach to worry about.

Peace

it's nice to know that there's some kids growing up with the proper values being taught to them.

There's hope for the younger generation after all.

Thumbs down

First of all, if a player had a very offensive tattoo, it's likely he wouldn't be allowed to have it in school.

Second of all, no matter what anyone else says, if I see a player with a swastika tattoo, either he's kicked out of the gym or I'm not doing the game.

Interesting discussion - but, no matter how offensive it is to "me", if the team parents, coaches, and school haven't disciplined him or made him cover it up, I'm letting it go.

Wonder what the other team and the rest of the gym will think....

This is where my opinion is as well. If they are going to do something so stupid, I am not going to tell a player not to play just because I might be personally offended. This really is a school issue.

Peace
