Tubby Smith's attire

Did anyone catch the fact that the entire KY coaching staff and some of the FL staff were wearing white court shoes with their suits? Are we trying to set a new fashion trend in the SEC? Did the announcers say anything about the reason for that at the beginning of the game? I flipped it over for the last 14 min of the game and that was the first thing that stood out to me - well other than both teams were playing like crap . . .

Coaches vs. Cancer

Tubby and a lot of other coaching staffs have been wearing sneakers this weekend in support of Coaches vs. Cancer. Most schools who take part also run fundraising campaigns for cancer research during games this weekend.

What do you mean - "new"?

Both coaching staffs did the same thing in my D3 game yesterday. So it must be part of a national campaign.

That makes sense - Beilein and Holland both wore sneaks yesterday too but they wore polo shirts too . . .

FWIW...Yes, this was a national campaign to bring public awareness to the Coaches vs. Cancer organization. Most colleges (regardless of level) have undertaken fundraising efforts to contribute to the fight against cancer.

Most supervisors of officials have asked their staffs to contribute a portion of their game fees from their respective games this weekend. Somewhere between $125 and $25 (depending on the game fee) was the suggested donation. Mayber some day we'll see the officials wearing white gym shoes as well.....
