Out of Control!
 

It looks like the level of violence and out of control fans has even gotten down to the 5th graders level. The article doesn't give many details, but usually these youth games are refereed by high school kids. Hope the fans gets what he deserves! :mad: http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=875306

I don't want to be Annoying Grammar Guy, but reading that article gave me a headache.

The worst night of my 10 years of officiating is a set of 5th :confused: 6th :confused: grade games against rival schools, during my 1st year. The gym was very small with fans screaming, even a couple of :mad: mothers :mad: stepping on to the floor to let us know we were wrong in a OOB call, both :o :o coaches were Bobby Knight wannabees. The clock wasn't working correctly :( and then the 6th grade game went 2 OT. Other than the above the games were fun. I had an official with 20+ :cool: years experience working with me and I learned a lot that night. He went to game administration before the 6th grade game and had an announcement made that the next outburst from any fan wil result in the WHOLE bleacher section leaving :eek: extreme but it worked. Nothing even close to that night since, Thanks God.

The lower the level, the worse the fans. No wonder a lot of states have a hard time finding new officials.
