what do you uae to keep track of your schedule
Well I have seen several polls and what not today so, I thought I would ask one.
What do you use to keep track of all your assignments? I have a palm Zire that i use that syncs with outlook on my pc, and I also have a date book on my RazR phone. I am getting to many different places to store dates. Looking for a nice single system. |

It uses the latest in paper technology that is compatible with both pen and pencil. It's very stable and low power - I've never had to reboot it and it still has the original batteries |
If just write them down in my dayplanner once I get game updates via Arbiter.
I'm a 40-hour a week computer geek, but I still use the old "pencil and dayrunner" system to keep in my car. |
I used my Palm Zire until I upgraded my phone to the Samsung Blackjack. It syncs with Outlook also.
In Ohio we also have to post all OHSAA games to the OHSAA.net website for coaches to evaluate for potential playoff game selections. In reverence to Dan - I've never had to sharpen it |

Small schedule book and an Excel spreadsheet that I have created so I can upload it to the internet and view it anywhere.

Our association uses Reftown. It lets me electronically export my schedule then sync it with my Treo 650. Very handy & easy to do.......

I actually use a combination of tech and paper.
I always have my Blackberry (synched to my PC) with me in case the scheduler calls. Then, when I get to office I will print my current calendar and out a few months to carry with my equipt bag when I travel to reference if necessary. Thankfully, as a new guy, my assignor only calls me once every few weeks and my schedule doesn't change that much. If it does, in the Blackberry it goes and is synced electronically - works for me. |

I use the original Palm Pilot -- when my assignor gives me my games, I grab an ink pen and write them on the palm of my hand.
|
MS Outlook and telephone calls from my partner(s). :D
|
engraving in stone is an option although not real practical. Choose one and don't keep switching!! Pretty soon you'll forget a password or something. We get contracts and I put them in three ring binder in order by date.
ok - I then also put them on the old zire palm pilot for quick looks. |
I must be real low tech. I use Arbiter and my Palm Treo 680 brought to you via Cingular the new AT&T. WOW I better catch up and start using daytimer and pencil..

I use MS Outlook and a Date book only for officiating assignments.
I get games from internet sources, but I always keep those games in another place just in case something gets lost or stops working. Peace |
Treo
I keep my entire calendar on my treo; when an assignor calls, i can put them on speaker and check my calendar. Plus my cell is my only #, so i carry it with me everywhere, so i always have my assignments with me. i used to use a separate palm pilot but this is so much easier.

Assigned on Arbiter, manually entered into Outlook, sync'd to Palm Zire.

My Blackberry 8700 is my date book on my hip.
I sync it with outlook every so often. |
Twist to the original post
Ok, seems like we all have a little different way of keeping track of dates. Now for all you guys that use electronics to keep track of dates,
What do you use to keep track of milage and expenses? I have yet to find a good program that works with my palm Zire or my Razr Phone. Its looking like the old paper and pencil might be the best route to keep track of everything. |
If using Arbiter, It gives you miles from the address you have on file...

At the end of the year, add up the mileage, revenue, expense numbers and enter on schedule C. Takes about 1 minute. |
HS We get most of our assignments a year out in the leagues I work....
I use a spreadsheet to keep track of that....eventually adding the data into outlook and syncing with my cell phone. I also have to use Arbiter, the OHSAA site and my Juco assignors site. Basically, I am keeping data current in about 5 places. Next year, OHSAA is supposed to integrate all assignors and refs into one system so I may get to cut it down to 3 or 4 places which would be nice. |

Just went to the treo 700p and its working great! Had 4 conversations with conference assignors in last 2 days. I like the smooth interfacing of information and technology without multiple Also, (as a backup) I sync treo with my Mac daily AND each 2 weeks I print out remainder of my schedule and store a copy in my vehicle and a copy in my travel bag. As for the mileage and expenses aspect, I just diary entry thru Palm Desktop or directly into Treo for each assignment the respective data (including if I did or didn't get paid on site, when I received payment, mileage, expenses, etc), and at end of year I compile into a spreadsheet for computation. |
I'm on Zebraware multiple times a day during the season, so I don't transfer that info anywhere else. However, I do use Excel right now to keep track of games and payment info, as well as a few other things. ZW may, for example, have us scheduled for 2 games and for whatever reason we end up with one.

iCal
I use iCal on my Mac. It can be synced to any other Mac around, or I can look at my schedule anytime online. I can also have my calendar/contacts transferred to my iPod so I have it there as well. Very easy to do.
