So how many games do you have left?

My B'ball season's winding down. I have a boys JV tomorrow night and a boys V next Saturday scheduled and that's it. Still getting calls about every other day to fill in, and might end up doing a couple of local boys JV games. One of the guys scheduled has big time knee problems so we might do 3 man to help him out. MS volleyball is in full swing, however Bball's winding down in a hurry. How much BBall do most of you have left?

tomegun Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:41am

4 high school games
4 high school playoff games
4 college games

Hopefully more to come.

NEohioref Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:43am

8 jr high games,I have alot of C.Y.O left. They have tournaments that will run into the begining of March. Also rec leagues pop up in the spring. I have some games thru my local association. Dont forget summer rec, camps, and A.A.U. The association has helped me out alot.

How many games do I have left?

I figure I'm good for another 10 years before I start to slow down.

blindzebra Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:54am

Regular season game on Monday.

Regional playoff games the 7th and 15th.

There should be one state game between the game on the 15th and the state final I'm doing on the 24th, just haven't heard yet.

JRutledge Sat Feb 03, 2007 01:22am

We will see.

I have 9 regular season games left.

I have no idea how many post season games (I had 6 last year).

Peace

mrmotivation Sat Feb 03, 2007 01:24am

tjones1 Sat Feb 03, 2007 02:22am

6 games left. It's possible I might pick up 1 or 2 more as a fill in for someone who got a post-season assignment.

Just about every day I have some level of games up to varsity high school.

I have over 40 games left

mplagrow Sat Feb 03, 2007 08:49am

I have about 12 JH games left, mostly the tournaments. I'm no Old School, I can't do 1,000 games a year!

26 Year Gap Sat Feb 03, 2007 08:56am

I have 8, but Old School has the same number remaining as he did at the start of the season. ;)

Ignats75 Sat Feb 03, 2007 10:39am

1 Varsity
9 JV
8 CYO Games

AAU starts up in April. (20-25 games)
One Summer League I work starts up in June. (40-50 games)

PIAA REF Sat Feb 03, 2007 11:20am

Rich Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:18pm

None. :(

Course, I have a dislocated kneecap.

I had to turn back 16 varsity games.

Ignats75 Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:24pm

Ouch!. how'd it happen Rich?

Trying to stop on a dime during a boys varsity game. 4:05 left in the second quarter. We stopped the game and called an early halftime and found a replacement official who had just finished a JV game at another school.

It's just a bump in the road. First extended injury during basketball season in 20 years. I broke my ankle in 1997 working a baseball game. I figure if you work 3 seasons long enough you're going to have things like this happen and it just means rehab, get in better shape, and keep going.

Ignats75 Sat Feb 03, 2007 01:14pm

Good luck with the rehab

I've got two JV games and two AAU games. I might pick up some christian school games yet, I'm not sure. Probably some more AAU in a few weeks.
I'm working on setting my T goals for AAU games? I'm thinking two per game is a nice even number. :D

tomegun Sat Feb 03, 2007 08:34pm

Somebody tell me, is the amount of games Old School has left plus the amount of games Deecee has left the same as the amount of games Deecee has left or the amount of games Old School has left? :D Huh?

What?

26 Year Gap Sat Feb 03, 2007 09:39pm

If Old School has the same number of games left now as he had at the beginning of the season then he has done as many as Rich has left in the season. But he also has the same number of games left as Rich. And I think all of us would rather be partnered with Rich in his present state than Old School in his inaugural game.

I can walk pretty well right now. So, if you don't mind me showing up a bit late on the fast break.

Oh, hell, I'll just sit next to the assistant coaches -- they call the game from there anyway.

Best vantage point in the whole gym.

refnrev Sat Feb 03, 2007 10:26pm

Down to my last one. Had a 49-48 boys JV tonight. V hit a three with .04 on the clock to cut it to 1, but time ran out on them. Close score -- but not much talent on eaither side. One good coach, one chronic whiner.

One of these days, when a coach asks me to overturn my partner's (lead) call from trail, I'm going to respond, "Coach, I couldn't do that. I had the same view you did, and I'm not comfortable with my angle."

Way too cerebral for a coach to understand. You are going to have to explain it to him.

I tried to use small words. Maybe if I used "can't" instead of "couldn't" (it's shorter) and "happy" instead of "comfortable" (shorter and more pleasant)? Would that help having only two words more than one syllable; and then only two?

mplagrow Sun Feb 04, 2007 08:22am

Let's try monosyllabic: "Coach, from here, I could see what you saw: zip!"

Connecticut

Here in Connectict, girls play regular season games for two more weeks and boys for three more weeks. The regular season is followed by league or conference playoffs and then by the state tournament. The state tournament finals for girls will be in early Mrach, the boys a week later. I believe that we're having the New England prep school tournament in our local board region this year, and that may extend the season a little bit longer.
