jon diebler

This kid is amazing to me he averages 40.5 pts per game. He is the leading scorer in high school bbal this year. He had a game 2nite here in Ohio and he had 39 pts at the half. I didnt see him live but his game was shown on our local satellite/cable provider. He is # 2 in Ohio for all time scoring ,passing Lebron James. I'm glad he is going to Ohio State next year. Thoughts anyone? BTW ...I'm a newbie here 1st year ref and loving it!!!!

The more you officiate, the less you will care about individual players. ;)

Aha, that high school player !
Red shirts in Big 10
Because of grades, transfers to Western Kentucky.
Passes all credits and wins DII Nat'l championship.
Becomes JV coach in Hometown, Ohio.

I'm horrible!

That's the one.

Married his high school sweetheart. Took over the varsity program from an ailing coach and ended up winning the State Championship. Got run over by a float in the victory parade. There's a memorial to him right by the stoplight in the middle of the town.

It brings a tear to my eye whenever I think of it. Alas, Jon Deibler. A great American!

I heard on Fox News that Hillary Clinton was driving that float, she actually chased him down 2 blocks before catching up with and dispatching poor Jon...apparently Jon Deibler looks a hell of a lot like Bill Clinton and Jon's mistake was he had a young cutie on his arm at the time...

I heard that Jon had a cigar too, but they're trying to keep all of that out of the papers. There's no need to tarnish his legacy.

It's such a shame, too. He had such a promising young career. He was a great guy, too.

It's nice to see people from all over our great country responding so well in their grief. Special remembrance funds have already been set up in Jon's memory. Donations can be made through this web site also, c/o me. Part of the monies received will go to consoling the grieving widow. I'll take care of that part too. I'm a sharing kind of guy, as you well know.

RIP, Jon. Gone, but never forgotten.

Jon, plays for his father. His father used to be the boys' H.S. varsity coach at Gibsonburg (Ohio) H.S., and has a reputation of being a wild man on the sideline; two years ago he served an OhioHSAA two (2) game suspension for being ejected from a game that he was coaching.

When we moved back to Ohio from Los Angeles, I joined the Wood Co. Bkb. Off. Assn. While his was at Gibsonburg H.S. I officicated his team's four (4) times and never had a problem with him. People are flabergasted that I never came close to giving him a technical foul in those games. It was easy. During my first year as a member of the WCBOA I and officiated a scrimmage game for him along with the WCBOA's secretary (Daryl ("The Preacher" Long) and president. Early in the scrimmage I made a charge call against one of his player's and he went ballistic on me. I stopped him dead in his tracks and told him that I would not tolerate such conduct by a coach in a scrimmage game and he had better back on the sideline and coach him team. He was speechless. I never had a problem with him after that even though I know many officials who says he is still a terror on the sidelines.

Hey, consider yourself officially initiated. Just remember, there are some guys that don't know the meaning of the word 'quit.' They also don't know the meaning of 'funny,' 'humorous,' or even 'mildly amusing!':D

Almost, but not quite. I've got next week off since I'm going to Denver for a week of playing Air Force. When I get back, I have two games left as of now (might get a few more, but the 6 year old is ready to spend more time with her dad, so I won't take too much.)

After all that time dealing with coaches, you should be more than ready to handle the six-year-old!

I've been surprised at how many times the techniques from one transfer well to the other. For example, she responds well to the stop sign.

And a "time-out" for a six year old is almost the same as a coach being seatbelted......

I have an idea for a sitcom: The son and the dad live together, and also run a junk yard. The dad is always faking heart attacks, and the son is always bailing him out of trouble. He has a couple of cool old friends that stop buy, and a sister in law he doesn't get along with. I'm thinking of calling It .........."Diebler and Son". Any thoughts?

Have you made the pilot yet?

I saw a different pilot the other night: Jon's wife said, "Gee, Jon, you were a little hard on the Diebler last night."

I just saw the new western with this theme song:

Out of the night
When the full moon is bright
Comes a horseman known as Diebler

This bold renegade
Marks a "D" with his blade
A "D" that stands for Diebler

Diebler - the fox so cunning and free
Diebler - he makes the sign of the "D"

Diebler, Diebler, Diebler!

It was a really cool show. Diebler attacked the garrison run by Colonel Packer and freed all the bench warmers. He used his sword to mark the sign of the "D" on Sgt. Versace's uniform. He also gave a T to Pvt. Knight.

Has anybody seen my meds?

Well, I was thinking more of the Isle of Gilligan than the Isle of Fantasy, but that works too.

Lessee though, we need a role for Chuck....I got it. A box of radioactive coconuts wash up on shore and Gilligan eats one, causing him to shrink to the size of a walnut. The professor concocts a potion to restore him to full size.

Chuck plays the shrunken Gilligan.
