NCAA Tourney Teams to Watch
Can anyone offer 2 or 3 teams to watch for to do good things in this year's tournament?
Maybe an underdog team? |

Two teams that are much better than people think are New Mexico State and UNLV.
Both should make the tournament and both should win their first round game. |
Rebel connection
I believe former Rebel Reggie Theus is runnin that show in Las Cruces.

But the ACC is pretty strong as usual. To me it looks like UNC is hard to beat in the ACC. Maryland has holes...too many holes and inconsistant, but when they get it together, they look good.
The Pac 10 looks strong too. I think so much comes down to injuries. If a team can stay strong and not get a major player injured, they have a good shoot. My true underdog, maybe VCU ( Virginia Common Wealth ). |
Watch Out
Watch out for VATech, There team can play with anyone. If they do get in (they may be a bubble team) They could be this years George Mason
|
Watch Utah...I have seen them a couple of times this year, and if they can stay healthy, they can make some noise...Fazekas is pretty good.
|
I can see Butler getting to the Sweet 16, if they stay healthy and get a decent seed.
|
I can see a whole buncha fanboys showing up here in March whining about us mean ol' officials screwing their dearly beloved team. And, sad to say, some of the fanboys will be officials(?) too.
Repeat during the NBA playoffs too. |

I write a sports column for my local neighbourhood newsletter. My first column is a quickie about the tournament and I need a team to mention so that it looks like I follow NCAA basketball more than I actually do. :D :D |
