NFHS - 0.3 sec rule?

Does the NFHS have a 0.3 second "catch and shoot vs. tip" rule? I couldn't find it in my previous year's book and wonder if it's a rule on this level.

(Had a game with 0.2 seconds left tonight with Team A down 3 and thought that a catch would mean game over).

yes... at .3 seconds and less, a player cannot catch the ball.

Yes.
No catch and shoot with 0.3 sec left to play but a pass and tap for a goal is legal.

We had it twice tonight...some how we managed to have a held ball at 0.02 in the 2nd quarter and 0.03 in the 3rd quarter both times with the ball going to the same team...was there a full moon or something?:D

5-2-5 is the one you're looking for.

5-2-5 . . . When play is resumed with a throw-in or free throw and three-tenths (. 3) of a second or less remains on the clock, a player may not gain control of the ball and try for a field goal. In this situation only a tap could score.
NOTE: This rule does not apply if the clock does not display tenths of a second.

Remember though that a catch does not immediately end the period; it only means that a team cannot score a FG following catch with .3 seconds or less showing on the clock. There could certainly be a foul or some other violation, and while most would assume that .3 seconds would elapse almost immediately, alot can still happen.

It takes more than a full moon to make that happen, it takes a full-on Twilight Zone experience. Was Rod Serling running the clock? Is that why it was showing HUNDREDTHS of a second? ;)

Of course if the horn blew before the shot was released..................

Not sure how I missed it, unless I glanced over that section and figured it couldn't be in there.

Thanks.

BITS:

There is a junior college in my area where the clock shows hundreths when stopped with less than a minute showing. Usually the first time an official sees it, he or she asks the table why the time displayed is "34:88" or something similar (34:88 showing being 34.88 seconds).
