scorebook technical?

Could someone walk me through step by step the procedure to follow for a player not in the scorebook - technical. Start right after the scorer's table has called me over to notify that the #52 white, who just entered the game is not in the book.......

During our pregame we did take the book to coach to dbl check and #s of players matched - however, wrong name and number was written in place of another. Sub-varsity game. Also, is this recorded as bench T, Coach T. or what? Thanks in advance.

Have the scorer add #52 to the scorebook, as he is now a player.

Blow the whistle, form the letter "T" with your hands. :p

Assess the white team a team technical foul - it will count towards the bonus, but will NOT count towards either the coach's or #52's total for being DQed. The opponent will shoot 2 free throws and will have a throw-in at the division line opposite the table.

Remember - if the white team now needs any other changes listed under 10-1-2, no technical foul is assessed.

I agree with Mark's procedure with one exception: I normally wouldn't blow the whistle on something like this.

Me either. Just had my first administrative technical of my short R career two nights ago. - And I didn't blow my whistle for it. (I felt it was comparable to a pregame technical for either administrative or grasping.) Veteran R's: should the whistle be blown here?

There was a discussion about whistle/no whistle a few weeks ago. I prefer to give a whistle on these so that everyone (partner included) knows what's going on and knows that we're going to have a stoppage in the game.
