Elevator Elevator

Got my first Elevator Elevator and Nuts and Bolts cheers last night.....

I cracked up actually when they did it....we used to do those all the time when I was in HS....We had a great cheering section last night.

I was glad I didn't get the old "A noose, a tree"

I'm still waiting to hear my own favorite taunt from when I resided on the darkside:

Its hard to blow the whistle when you suck.

Especially for rec league games, my contacts come out and the glasses go on...I could listen to the "four eyes" chant all night! It's #1 on my list, followed closely by "Call 'em both ways!"

Even when you know "they're only kidding," (they are kidding right?)
it still makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck when the whole gym chants, "Find a tall tree, and hang the referee."

They must be kidding, 'cause they always laugh after they say it.

I'm reasonably sure they're kidding.

BRB, there's somebody at the door.

One of my favorite stories, from a ref in D.C.

Ref had to bring his son and daughter to a game, and they were both fairly young at the time. He told them to sit in the stands, and to not tell anybody that their dad was one of the refs.

Well, tight game towards the end of the fourth quarter, there's a collision in the paint, and this ref calls a charge that goes against the home team. The crowd starts chanting "Kill the ref!" and he looks for his kids to make sure they're not too upset by this.

His kids were chanting along with the crowd.

Chuck's not stout. He's 4'14" and 126 pounds of dynamite.

With a half inch wick.

You should see his game bag:
  • Spare whistle
  • Spare shoes
  • Spare shirt
  • Spare pants
  • Spare partner
I'm thinking about getting a Chuck for my bag too. :)
